The Benefits
Article submissions should be treated as a long term investment in your future traffic and sales growth, rather than a shortcut to success. When you follow our guidelines, outlined below, article submissions can be extremely effective, and have played a large part in the success of thousands of different web sites. So please, to experience the full benefits of your membership, read this page carefully and follow the guidelines provided.
While you will certainly experience some initial benefits, it's not usual (although still possible) to experience massive results after just a couple of article submissions. However, the more articles you write, the more likely it is that your articles will be picked up for publication in ezines and on web sites, and the greater long-term success you will achieve.
If a particular article is selected for publication in an ezine, either directly following a submission, or at some point in the future, you will likely see an immediate spike in traffic and possibly sales (depending on the subscriber numbers), similar to ezine advertising with the added benefit that often the ezine edition will be published in web site archives too for a longer term benefit. Once you have quite a few articles available, this will become more frequent, and the benefits of article submissions tends to exponentially increase over time.
Otherwise, if you are consistent with your article campaign, it is usual to experience increasing numbers of in-bound links to your web site, increasing levels of targeted traffic, increasing sales growth, and members have also reported increased search engine rankings and Google PageRank.
With a consistent article submission campaign:
- The more articles you write, the more web sites will choose to publish your article(s) online, the more inbound links your site will receive that will generate long-term traffic directly as well as boost your search engine rankings over the long-term, which in itself will of course generate traffic
- The more articles you write, the more publishers will get used to your name, the quality of your articles, and the topics you cover, and the more likely it is that your article will be selected for publication
- The more articles you write, the more your reputation and credibility is established, which in itself further encourages publishers to publish your articles, in order to benefit their readership with your expertise
This is why article submissions are regarded by Internet marketing experts as one of the most effective promotional methods - and by using Orbitaloc.com, you are using the most effective article submission tool available.
Your Agreement
By submitting an article via Orbitaloc.com, you agree:
- You are the copyright holder of the article.
- You are solely responsible for the content of, and the views expressed within, your article.
- Your article can be freely republished, online or offline, in full including the resource box, at any time, without any form of compensation, monetary or otherwise.
- Orbitaloc.com acts as an article posting agent on your behalf for
your article, distributes your article to publishers of our choosing,
and makes reasonable judgements on your behalf in agreeing to any terms
and conditions where published on web sites to which your article is
submitted.
- Although we always try to only submit your article to responsible
publishers, you understand that your article will be available on several
web sites following its posting where it can be freely copied for the
purposes of republication, in line with appropriate free reprint article
publishing guidelines, and you will not hold Orbitaloc.com in any way
responsible for the way in which publishers publish your article, whether
we submit to them directly or not. You agree that any issue you may
have with an individual publisher is between you as the author of the
article, and the publisher, and not with Orbitaloc.com.
- Orbitaloc.com works hard to maximize the exposure of your article in order to maximize the benefits for your web site and/or business, but we cannot guarantee submission to or publication by any individual web site.
- Any email address that is registered with Orbitaloc.com cannot be kept private due to the nature of the distribution process - your main email address is used where requested for submission to web site article submission forms and is used as the 'From' address for email submissions sent to our in-house publisher list; the email you have registered with us for the article announcement lists is used as the 'From' address for article submissions to those lists. However we never pass on your email address to third parties for purposes other than the distribution and submission of your article.
- You accept that although Orbitaloc.com endeavours to submit your article correctly to publishers and web sites, and promptly correct any issue that we are alerted to, technical issues may arise from time to time that means your article and any accompanying information may be incorrectly submitted to individual web sites, for example, in the incorrect formatting of your article.
- You accept that if for whatever reason, for example if a web site is unavailable,
we are unable to submit your article to a particular web site at the
time of distribution for your article, we are unable to re-submit your
article at a later time to that web site. This includes occasions where
we do not have your correct log in information for a particular article
directory - you are advised to ensure that the log in information you
have entered for each article directory that requires a log in is correct
by going to the Article Directories
page and ensure that you can log in with the exact information you have
provided.
- You agree that these submission guidelines, along with this agreement, may change at any time, and you agree to review them regularly as part of your membership.
The Process
This is the process used for each article submission:
- You enter your article (or any number of articles) into the system by clicking the 'Enter New Article' button provided on the home page of the members area. It is strongly advised that your article is written and constructed elsewhere, preferably into a plain text editor such as Notepad, and then copied and pasted from there.
- Before clicking to Submit your article, you should carefully preview your article, and if necessary, further edit your article.
- When you are ready for us to distribute your article, click the Submit button in the Tools column next to your article - the status of your article will change to 'Distribution Pending':
- If your article receives editorial approval (more details below) it will be distributed (within 24-48 hours) to the article announcement lists, to our in-house list of publishers that want to receive articles for your article category, and to dozens of targeted web sites that accept article submissions:
- The status of your article will change to 'Approved' together
with the date of posting.
- The title of your article in the members area will be linked to the page where your article is published in the Orbitaloc.com article directory.
- If your article is declined due to problems with your article:
- The status of your article will change to 'Changes Required'
- We will send an email to the main email address listed in your account to inform you of this
- You need to edit your article to make the required changes and correct the problems with your article - the problems will be listed on the Edit Article page, to enable you to easily identify and correct the problems
- You should then resubmit your article as before
Dos and Don'ts
Do ensure that the main email address listed in your account
is accurate and that you are prepared for this email address to some
extent to be 'revealed' - it is used for your article submissions to web
sites where an email address is requested, and for email submissions to
our in-house list of publishers (not the article announcement lists) where
your email address is used as the 'From' address in the email.
Do submit your article to the most appropriate category
- web sites and publishers only want to receive articles that relate to
particular category areas and will not consider off-topic articles. If
you submit to an inappropriate category, you will be notified accordingly
and asked to resubmit to an appropriate category.
Do carefully preview your article by clicking the Preview icon next to the article, before you click the link to submit it. By doing this, you can often spot problems with your article that may affect your chances of publication.
Do take time to construct your resource box carefully, and ensure
that it contains the fully qualified URL of your web site - eg. http://www.yourwebsite.com
(and/or possibly an email address), so that interested readers of your
article can follow through to your web site.
Do keep the word length of your articles between 400 and 1500 words. As articles outside of these limits are generally unacceptable to many publishers and web sites in our distribution network, we only accept articles within these limits.
Do not make your article an advert - there is adequate provision to achieve publicity for your web site in the resource box. This means that you should not include links to your web site, or web sites you are affiliated with, or otherwise promote your own products or services, directly or indirectly, in the body of the article. Doing otherwise will severely jeopardize the chances of your article getting picked up for publication, and makes your submission virtually worthless - believe me, publishers do not like it, and you can achieve far greater results by not doing it. They are after quality content they can use, not sales copy.
Do not submit non-original duplicated articles - we do not accept for submission, articles which have been prepared for yourself and countless others over which you and others have been given rights to claim 'authorship'. Articles are acceptable where you have employed a ghost writer to write it exclusively for you, and for which you and you alone are the 'author'.
Do not submit articles containing adult content - due to the risk of causing offence to our publisher list and the web sites that we submit to, which would damage the service we provide for all our members, we do not accept any article that contains adult content, or that contains links to sites that contain adult content, either in the article or in the resource box.
Spacing Out Your Submissions
Please space out your article submissions appropriately, rather than submitting several all at once, for the following reasons:
- Some of the ezine editors on our list do not like multiple article submissions at the same time, and doing so will reduce the chances of one of your articles getting picked up for publication. By spacing out your article submissions, your chances of publication are greatly increased - so it is in your own interests to do so.
- Submitting several articles at the same time has a negative effect on all our members including you, so with all due respect, we simply ask you to play fair and follow the rules.
- Some of the announcement lists only permit one submission per day - this means your other submissions will be wasted, and thus your chances of publication greatly reduced. Again it is in your own interests to space out your submissions in a sensible way.
- If you need help with any aspect of using Orbitaloc.com, please just
contact us for support - we want to help you!
Editorial Approval
All articles require editorial approval to ensure they meet our editorial guidelines, as broadly outlined above - this protects our publishers from inappropriate submissions, and helps to ensure your chances of publication are maximized.
The editorial process that occurs after you submit your article by clicking
the Submit button is described above.
