Will the Apophis asteroid devastate earth in 2029?

By: neoprop

Currently some scientists are very aware of the asteroid Apophis (sometimes spelled as Apofiz) 99942 will be possibly getting very close to earth in the year 2029. Projections show there should not be a collision with earth but it could come within 20,000 miles of its surface. At that distance it would be passing into what is known as the Clarks Belt and could possibly damage existing satellites used for communication, military, and entertainment purposes.

Though currently researchers feel the chances are 1 in 45,000 that it could collide with earth, the real concern is how earths gravitational influence on this pass could possibly make it collide with earth seven years later in 2036.

People are already wondering if this could be the asteroid or planet mentioned in the book of Revelation called Wormwood. According to the description of Wormwood (referred to by some as Planet-X) in the Bible it does not appear to be an asteroid such as Apophis. It points more towards it being the composition of a star like a large ball of fire.

The year 2029 destruction with the asteroid Apophis does not fit into the timeline based upon how the Bible describes the sequence of events in the end times. It talks that the occurrence of Wormwood will take place right before the middle of the 70th week in a Sabbath year cycle. A Sabbath year cycle only takes place once every seven years. Based upon the original Sabbath year, Wormwood will not affect earth or severely hurt the human civilization in the year 2029.

From what the Bible says, Wormwood will cause havoc long before 2029. It appears that the Great Tribulation, the Rapture, and the Second Advent and Millennium will all take place before this time. This opinion is open to debate by many Christians and other religious groups throughout the world.

CNN published an article December, 29, 2006 in the Science and Space area that gives a lot of information about Apophis. The media is bringing more "end of the world" possibilities to our attention with its large outreach through television, radio, and the Internet. It is now becoming an understood possibility to people in all walks of life that an asteroid like Apophis, could change life as we know it on earth or even destroy it. This much attention has been leading to studies and research on how mankind could actually change the orbital path of an asteroid in the event of a possible collision with earth.

Thanks to the Internet, people can share information about their questions and findings with one another so as to get public and governmental support in facing some facts about the future of mankind.

Where is the Apophis Asteroid of in Bible prophecy? Tim McHyde, the author of both "Escape All Things" and "Know The Future" has determined that based upon current and past world events, and what the Bible says that the Great Tribulation will already be underway long before the arrival of the Apophis asteroid in 2029.
