San Antonio, Texas is a city rich in history and culture.

1. The Alamo is a must-see stop for anyone visiting San Antonio. The mission was constructed in 1724 and the remains are a testimony to the fighting spirit of those who settled the region. It is the place where great American heroes (Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and hundreds of others) took their last stand against the Mexican army.

2. The Riverwalk is a surprising break from the traditional metropolitan sites. You can stroll along the shady path, sit and enjoy some local music, or take in a meal at one of the many restaurants that border the walk.

3. San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is 819 acres with four Spanish Colonial missions. It is a chance to see the history of Texas preserved for today.

4. The King William Historic Area is the first historic district in Texas and is filled with late 1800's architecture.

5. The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center was created to help preserve, promote and develop the arts and cultures of the people in the San Antonio area. It produces a full season of events and exhibitions and also hosts several festivals through out the year.

6. The Tower of the Americas offers the best view of the city at 750 feet high. For the price of admission you can enjoy the Observation Deck and the 4D Theater Ride. There is also a restaurant at the top (be sure to get your reservations early).

7. The San Antonio Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals that are housed on 56 acres. It seeks to educate and entertain with the many exhibits around the park.

8. SeaWorld San Antonio is a fun break for the whole family - there are some rides, great shows, and plenty of interesting marine life.

9. The San Antonio Museum of Art is one of the largest museums in the Southwest. It is housed in the historic 1884 Lone Star Brewery.

10. The San Antonio Children's Museum is a fun place for children of all ages to let their imagination run free.
