The Importance of a Mobile Notary

By: IC

As you may know a notary public is an agent who attests or certifies deeds and other documents, which is usually done under his official seal (issued by a state official), to make them authentic, especially in foreign countries. A public notary's duties are mainly related to instruments used in commercial/legal transactions, these could be protests of negotiable paper, then he ship's papers in cases of loss, damage, etc. As you can see these are all procedures which require an impartial third party in order to validate them.

The functions and work of a mobile notary are very similar to those performed by a Notary Public in the sense that all of the authorities given to them are the same. A mobile notary is called "mobile" because that is exactly how they operate, basically a mobile notary is a representative who will drive to a citizen's house to conduct the oath or affirmation, to authenticate/ notarize documents, etc. Mobile notaries work primarily within the mortgage industry signing documents for loans, homes, refinance etc. Most of the time the borrower is unable to make it into the Title or Mortgage Company's office because just like all of us they have to work, in this case they would call a mobile notary to get the job done efficiently. When many jobs need to be done mobile notaries can charge a high fee for their service, however many times this fee may be tapped onto the borrower's loan package, sometimes as a service the title company or loan officer will cover the amount and include it as a benefit for the borrower.

Who needs a public notary?

As mentioned above mobile public notaries work within the real estate industry, at least most of them. Mainly financial lenders and loan signing companies need their services for the purpose of having loan/mortgage documents signed and notarized. With the popularity of the internet for locating and comparing lender's fees, a lot of people are getting loans through these online services. It is because of this fact that more and more lenders need a mobile notary for the purpose of having the loan documents signed and notarized at all locations throughout the United States, which according to the profits and commissions is a service worth every paying for.

Some services offered by mobile notary public agents are (but are not limited to): witnessing of legal documents, fingerprinting services, remote document signings/loan closings, administering of oaths

As you see the functions are quite delicate especially when they are official documents (must of the time). A lawyer can offer this services for their clients, however due to the price, people often tend to look for a notary public to help them notarize their documents, this service becomes even more valuable when the notary can meet you anywhere you are at any time, in a nutshell that is why they are so important.
