Around the world, there are millions of sufferers of joint pain. This pain can arise from one or more of the joints in our body. Another source of joint pain is inflammation of the joints. An auto-immune disease, known as rheumatoid arthritis, is one of the major causes of pain in the joints.
Osteoarthritis, which is common with old aged people, also gives rise to joint pain. Better known as 'degenerative joint disease' or "DND", osteoarthritis is perhaps the most important cause of joint pain. The breakdown of cartilage in one or more joints results in osteoarthritis.
Sufferers of osteoarthritis typically complain of joints that are swollen and muscle weakness. Some causes of osteoarthritis can be linked to obesity and bone disorders. Are there any remedies that relieve joint pain? Due to recent discoveries and advancements in Medical Science, there are quite a few drugs that provide effective relief for joint pain.
Bursitis (which can be defined as inflammation of a 'bursa') can also result in joint pain. The bursa is actually a small fluid-filled sac located between the movable parts of our body. It, thus acts as a cushion by facilitating the smooth movement of muscles. Septic arthritis is also responsible for joint pain.
Joint irritation can easily be relieved by taking extra supplements of Vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to joint pain. One way that we can get an extra influx of Vitamin D into our bodies is to increase our exposure to natural light. Obesity is also another risk factor for various types of joint pain like arthritis. Statistics even suggest that obese individuals are more likely to develop osteoarthritis than people of normal weight.
Exercising in water can also relieve joint pain. Cardiovascular exercises are also effective in relieving joint pain. Alternative therapies like 'Acupuncture' and 'Yoga' can also relieve joint pain.
