Orlando is one of the major cities of Florida, with an estimated population of about 185,951. According to the United States Census Bureau, Orlando occupies a total area of 261.5 kmｲ (100.9 miｲ). 242.2 kmｲ (93.5 miｲ) of land and 7.39% or 19.3 kmｲ (7.5 miｲ) of water. Orlando is generally assumed to have taken its name in 1836 from a soldier named Orlando Reeves who died during the war against the Seminole Indian tribe. Its relatively warm and humid climate is due to it situated at about 106 feet above sea level.

Orlando experiences two seasons annually. This seasons are the warm and cool seasons. The warm season is a combination of heat and rain which normally lasts from May until October. Come November until the month of March, rainfall becomes frequently less and temperature becomes cooler. Orlando is prone to wildfire hazards during its driest season on the months of December until May.

Orlando, a name derived in 1836 from a soldier named Orlando Reeves who died during the war between the Indian's tribe Seminole, is considered to be among the top vacation spots in the world. Among its well known attractions include Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney was said to have raised the economic status of Orlando since its formation back in 1965.

Other famous attractions in Orlando include the Universal Orlando Resort and Sea World. Today, Orland has become a city known all around the world for its numerous theme parks and tourist attractions. It has been perceived to be accommodating an average of 52 million tourists per year.
