Taking care of your skin is a great way to show your body how much you care. Great looking skin can help keep you looking younger, healthier and happier - all by taking a few steps each day to just revitalize that outer layer of epidermis. But what is the best skin care out there?
Some people base their skin care purchases on price - thinking that the pricier their regimen, the better the results. Others go for name brands, as there are hundreds of brands out there, and a few are more recognizable than others. Deciding what is best for you, however, can be simple.
Look at the back of your skin care package, and read the ingredients carefully. Can you pronounce them? Chances are, even with the big skin care companies like those you'll find in department stores - the ingredient list will make you tongue-tied.
Organic skin care goes beyond even natural skin care, which takes care to use ingredients from nature in their products. These ingredients include items that are taken from plants - such as extracts that might come from vegetables, or fruits. They might even use herbs or teas.
Choosing skin care that doesn't include these chemicals may be a little tougher than just running to the drugstore or even going to a larger department store counter. You may have to go to a health food store, or a larger cosmetic store chain specializing in all-natural skin care.
Look for skin care that uses ingredients that come from nature, such as plant based ingredients that you might even be tempted to eat. Fruit enzymes, vegetable extracts and even teas and herbs are excellent items to use when caring for your skin, and have been used for centuries.
For an item to be deemed organic, it must be grown and harvested without the use of chemicals. That means that no chemical fertilizers can be used to accelerate the growth of the crop, and no chemical pesticides can be used to ward off insects while the crop is growing.
Natural skin care can be more or less expensive than traditional skin care, depending on the skin care brands you were used to buying. Some typical brands include Burt's Bees and JASON, but there are many, many others available to experiment with for you to find the perfect match for your skin.
Taking the time to make sure that your skin care is all-natural and organic can make a difference in your skin - and making your skin care items at home when possible can make an even bigger different in the way you feel about your skin and the way your skin feels!
