Anyone that feels he/she has to start living in a tepee or even a converted school bus before they can save on mortgage loans or live free of mortgage obviously has it all wrong. Alas, many people erroneously think this is the wise step to take to avoid mortgage loans.
But it's not as difficult as everyone thinks it is to pay off one's mortgage in good time.
Many at this point will wonder -- but can they pay off their mortgage and still have the money to buy the necessary things they need for survival and a little fun? You won't believe how easy it is to achieve this seemingly impossible undertaking.
Every individual who owes for mortgage loans should make it their top priority to first repay their loans before anything else; whether they have the extra funds or not. There's more to it than just the idea of being able to bring in lots and lots of money monthly. Anyone who takes care in planning, takes care in making budget adjustments and has lots of determination will be able to pay off their mortgage debt.
Are you aware that anyone has the capability to pay off their mortgage debt in just 5 years, or ten years at the most? Is there some sort of catch going on here?
Not at all, just sacrifice a little and you can own your home in no time.
Still in doubt as to how you can achieve this amazingly difficult feat?
One of the first things you should do is resist the temptation to spend all your tax refunds each year on unnecessary expenses. Instead, what you ought to do each time you receive your tax refunds is to put the money aside for repaying your mortgage loans. Just paying $50 to $100 extra per month can, within some years, pay off tens of thousands of dollars of your mortgage loans.
I consider it unreasonable to continue taking fishing trips in far away places rather than fishing trips very near where you live. Instead of spending so much money traveling to Hawaii each year for your anniversary, pick a place closer so that you can save the extra.
Any lady that truly desires to pay her mortgage early should give up pedicures and manicures and those expensive spa treatments each month; learn to do them yourself instead. For golf loving guys out there, I hate to say this but if you reduce your golfing to once a month instead of weekly, this will help you save some extras for putting aside to paying off your mortgage.
If you desire to shave off 6 whopping years from your mortgage payment years, get into the habit of paying hundreds of dollars extra all the time. As simple as it seems, just paying little extra each time can seriously increase your savings. I can't comprehend someone in their right senses failing to take advantage of this.
Even those people that you think are very low wage earners can afford to save an extra $10 to $25 each month by cutting down on their habits of buying cigarettes, beer and others at Wal-Mart or Target. If you want to be mortgage debt free faster, talk to your lender to increase your payments. If this isn't possible, simple go back to the payments you were making before.
Wise people put aside money from their tax refunds to their accounts and consider this money well spent. It's a good idea to commence a different account that you can use for vacations and entertainment or any such extra expenses. The purpose of all these is not for you to start living like a month, but for you to get into the mind frame of living a life of balance instead of a life of wasteful spending. Cutting down on entertainment completely is not the way to go; just reduce it a little bit. Instead of 4 times outing in a month, make it 1 outing in a month.
Those that live moderately can come up with the extra money each time for their mortgage loans. Just go ahead and do the math with a calculator to see. I am certain everyone will confirm the desire to save thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars during the life of their mortgage.
I don't agree that one must sell his/her life to own a home. All you have to do is to follow a budget; with it you will be able to take good control of your life and conveniently pay the little extra monthly to be able to get mortgage debt free in as little as 5 to 10 years.
