Extreme effort is needed to stop the uncontrollable desire for food. Considering that, develop your battling skills to conquer compulsive actions. This battle is for freedom; avoid failure. You can feel fervent emotions and resolve not to give in. Command yourself, "I refuse to stop. I refuse to give in. I refuse to fall." During the emotional turmoil caused by enticement, enquire of yourself, what do I really desire? Eating to reduce stress is not your goal. What you really need is to be at ease. You do not want to eat because you are annoyed. What you want is to address the problem. You do not want to eat simply because you are afraid. What you really want is the courage to face it. Eating in the place of boredom is not what you want. What you desire is, an objective that will initiate real action within you. Avoid fighting with obsessive thoughts, but convert them into productive thoughts and actions. Take mini-breaks to manage your mood and cut the pattern of obsessive thinking. Find a little time to do something you enjoy to alow the emotions to fade. Listen to music, exercise, go for a short walk, or take a relaxing bath. Not only will you be battling addictive thoughts, but upgrading your life. Do not give in to an urge; when you give in, the comfort will create a craving to repeat it. Remind yourself that junk food is false pleasure. If you do not nurture a craving, it will stop. If you become anxious, slowly take a deep breath, holding for one second, and exhale, think serene. Create the emotion of revulsion until you are nauseated: finger nails scratching a blackboard, or hair floating in your soup, Find what image best works for you. Use negative tagging. Chips are flavored pieces of unhealthy oils and fats. Create your own negative labels for the foods you are moving away from. Play the mental tape to the end; look at the whole picture. Do not concentrate just on the pleasure, but be aware of all the negative consequences. When you manage yourself, you feel as though something was taken away, and feel cheated. Fight that feeling with the fact that you are content and happy. Challenge the feeling of loss. Always remember the bad qualities of junk food. Stop eating them. Steer away from triggers like fast food outlets and donut stores. Avoid hanging around unnecessarily in the kitchen or the dining room when you start to feel tempted. Schedule when to eat your meals. Have fruits or vegetables snacks ready. The first few days can be the most difficult. If you feel weak and not ready, it will be challenging to control your thoughts. Managing direction requires work, and toxic feelings lead to an reckless self-destructive feeling. It will pass once the blood clears of toxins Do the best you can through out these times to be firm.
