It is an understatement actually to say that the World of Warcraft and all its myriad expansions have captivated the attention of the gaming world like no other MMORPG ever has. Ever since the launch of this game in 2004, the game has gone from strength to strength. Today it stands as the highest played MMORPG in the world, boasting of the largest number of subscribers in comparison to any other game that has ever been released in the genre.

Eight Million is the count of fans for this game which is clearly a greater number by far than the population of most of the nations around the globe! A quick glance reveals that there are about 2 million players in North America alone; Europe will contribute more than 1.5 million players and China amounts to a staggering 3.5 million avid players for this mega franchise. Clearly, World of Warcraft is well on its way of becoming a major worldwide phenomenon. And we are not talking just about the gaming world here!

The very aspect that its dedicated players admire is the World of Warcraft's scope to evolve within the game from a struggling lowlife to a strategist. Original Warcraft will allow up to 60 levels Warcraft. Players are given additional hope to reach up to 70 levels with The Burning Crusade patch and the yet to be released patch of Wrath of the Lich King will bring up the level to 80.

A separate lingua franca has evolved for the game as so many people playing World of Warcraft from all over the world all the time, Game's interface can be used to converse with each other as many players are just engrossed using terms from the game itself.

The number of players for the World of Warcraft hasn't dwindled in the years after its release, and there seems to be no chance for it to happen in the near future. It is not wrong to say that among the reverent gaming population of the world, the World of Warcraft is nothing short of a religion.
