The first date can make anyone nervous- but with the right mindset, and a little confidence, any first date can be successful. Of course this takes some special learning and tactics, but the results payoff in the end for those who just can't seem to "seal the deal." The number one cause for lack of confidence comes from one's self-image. If you think that you aren't the best looking, the one with the best personality, or even able to carry on an able conversation, your confidence will fall as a result. The solution is simple: find what you don't like about yourself, fix it, and then cope with what you can't fix- the sooner the better. Contrary to popular belief, confidence isn't a one-trick pony. Confidence comes from multiple sources of personalities and characteristics in one's personality. Thus, it is important for one to be as casual, carefree, and outgoing as possible- and of course the ability to carry on a conversation is a must when going out on a date. Perfecting each component of confidence will likewise guarantee that your successes in giving the right impression will succeed. Although confidence is always a good thing, it can often be confused with arrogance. If you want to impress your date, you will do good to avoid arrogance at all costs. If you appear overly confident or self centered, then it is highly likely that your date will start to lose interest. After all- who wants to carry on a conversation with someone who only cares to talk about themself? Another big confidence killer is one's living arrangements. It's common for one's house to have pets, which can cause foul odor. Others may live with their parents even after graduating college or highschool, which can be equally as embarrassing. Whatever the scenario, it's important to agree with the idea that if the date really is for you, they would understand your shortcomings without question. Confidence also can be created by going on a date doing something you are familiar with. All too often, the first date is a new experience for those who lack confidence. Going rock climbing when you have never gone before, in this case, is a very bad idea. Instead, go to a local restaurant or engage in a physical activity that you are familiar with. Most importantly, one should note that it is not always a bad sign that the date you were hoping to impress didn't turn out to show the same feelings. In many cases, this is just another chance to start over with someone completely new. And as dating goes, the learning experience will only give you better odds next time around. Confidence is a human trait that comes naturally- all you need to do is find it through good experiences and practice. Also ake note that a failure isn't always a setback- but just another reason to keep dating to find the special person for you. Armed with your new confidence, the chase for the "one" may now be easier than you think.
