Although many viewers are patiently awaiting the return of their Heroes in the regular primetime schedule, the cast and crew of the hit NBC television series commenced the filming of the show’s first season with a big event that hosted 700 people in the Cabana Club in Hollywood.
Milo Ventimiglia, who portrays Peter Petrelli (the guy who can absorb any superhuman power through mere empathy), told Access Hollywood that working on the show has been a pleasurable experience, as he interacts and works well with his co-stars, particularly with Christopher Eccleston, who portrays Claude, the man who has the mind-blowing ability to render himself invisible.
Even Greg Grunberg, who portrays mind-reader Matt Parkman, had some nice thoughts to share about his participation in the show. He said that his current role is unlike most of the other characters he has played in the past, and feels much more fulfilled now than he ever has before. Masi Oka, who portrays time-traveling Hiro Nakamura, also used many kind words in describing his experience in the show.
The event, which featured creatively named drinks such as Hero-tinis and Save the World Cosmopolitans, also called for the presence of other Heroes cast members like Adrian Pasdar, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Zachary Quinto and Hayden Panettiere, who was given a mock graduation ceremony in reference to her character, cheerleader Claire Bennet (the girl who has the unbelievable ability to regenerate, thus making her virtually invincible).
And of course, what would an event be without music? Grunberg (who is a member of Band from TV) and several television personalities, including Hugh Laurie, Bob Guiney, James Denton and Bonnie Sommerville, were among those who supplied the live tunes that night.
The Heroes stars may have been very open about their experience on the show, but when it was time to spill some season finale tidbits to TV Guide (who had crashed the said event), the Heroes suddenly found themselves without tongues. Still, spoilers do have a way of killing excitement, and certainly die-hard followers of the show can admit that the anticipation lends (to some degree) to the enjoyment of watching the show.
