Front Sight Firearms Training Institute Gives Excellent Training in a Very Emotional Subject

By: Jayden Adams

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, founded in 1996, is the top firearms training school in the US today.

Guns are an emotional subject today. Criminals use them to threaten and kill, and thus some people believe that guns should be banned. The only problem with that is that criminals already don’t obey the law, and certainly won’t obey that one! As knives and other objects can also be used to cause bodily harm, should those also be banned? Where would this stop?

So what can be done? The best answer so far has been to train the law-abiding citizens - the great majority of the people in any city or state - in the proper use of firearms to use in self-defense. Many people do own guns legally, but have bought into the TV and movie idea that it’s easy to use them properly. But those with experience under fire know that it takes skill to use a firearm properly, and it takes even more skill to use one when you or a family member is being threatened.

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute was started after its founder, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, had a personal experience that opened his eyes to his own situation regarding firearms. He was a responsible gun owner, and had already been doing some practice at a firing range, but realized very abruptly that he didn’t know how to use the firearms in self defense. There was a drive-by shooting in his neighborhood, and Dr. Piazza grasped that he really didn’t know what to do if the attack had become personal. This sent him on a search for good training for his own self-defense. But even more, he came to realize that these skills needed to be broadly known.

People want to be safe and to keep their families safe. Front Sight Firearms Training Institute provides training not only in how to use a gun, but in the other constellation of skills needed to know when to use a gun, how to store one safely, how to handle a gun safely, what skills should kids have both with and without a firearm to keep themselves safe. Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is designed for people with no gun experience at all, who have just gotten their weapon for defense. But it also has advanced courses for security, military and police professionals. Front Sight’s testimonials come from homemakers who didn’t like guns, kids who have learned how to shoot and how not to, Armed Forces personnel being sent to Iraq. They all talk about getting certainty that they will know what to do, and what not to do with their firearms.

The people who arrive being wary of guns, and only coming to Front Sight because a family member dragged them along are good examples of the emotional nature of the subject. They come in and get the real information; they learn to see that a gun, like any other tool, is just that, a tool. And the emotional reaction gets under their control. Once they have certainty that they can be in control of the gun, the gun, and the emotions, are no longer in control of them. The testimonials pretty much say one-for-one, that the feeling of self-confidence and self-respect gained if very high.

That is an emotion that we can all use more of!
