The most commonly drunk beverages today are water and green tea. Both of which are more often consumed than any other kind of beverage that you can think of. For many centuries now the Japanese and Chinese have realized the importance of including green tea in their dietary requirements. Although used for centuries in Chinese and Japanese cultures green tea has only recently been acknowledged by Western societies of being a beneficial substance for their health. Certainly there are plenty of different varieties of tea a person can choose to drink but a lot of people favor green tea simply because it has a very subtle and fresh taste. Although the Japanese and Chinese both drink green tea the ones that they drink have some slight differences to them. In Japan the tea is steam dried rather than being placed in an oven as it is in China. As we all know there are many health benefits to be gained from drinking tea, but also people should be wary and not drink too much of it. As with coffee this particular beverage contains caffeine and should a person drink large quantities of this particular drink may find themselves having problems sleeping. So it is best to restrict just how much you consume each day to around 2 or 3 cups and no more. A large number choose to drink green tea because it contains such high levels of vitamins and minerals which their bodies need to remain functioning properly. It also contains anti oxidant properties which help to improve a person's digestive system and remove unwanted toxins and substances that can cause problems to their health. The other advantage many have found from drinking green tea is that it contains a chemical called thiamine which seems to have a calming effect on the brain and they find they are much better able to cope with the stresses and strains of modern living. Not only is green tea beneficial in helping the body to function property but because of the polyphenols contained within it this particular beverage has become popular with those trying to lose weight. The polyphenols are a group of chemical which contain anti oxidant properties and which help to remove substances and toxins from the body that are unwanted. The main reason why this particular tea seems to be beneficial in helping those wishing to lose weight is that is not fermented like other beverages so does not contain high levels of sugar in it. Although today you can actually purchase green tea in tea bags it is best to buy it and brew it in the whole leaf form. This allows the properties contained with in the leaves to be infused more easily into the water. But actually choosing the right green tea to use can be somewhat of a challenge as there are so many different varieties now to choose from. However when first choosing to include green tea in to your dietary requirements it is better if you choose one of the more well known varieties such as Sencha which comes from China. Not only is this tea affordable in price but it comes with a flavor that a person who has never drunk green tea before will find palatable. Although the Sencha green tea from China has a very subtle and delicate flavor to it there are some people who prefer something a little more robust. Therefore if you want something that is a little stronger as well as being a much thicker liquid to drink you may want to consider trying Myou-Kou which comes from Japan. But both of these teas contain beneficial properties which help towards a person remaining fit and healthy. At the end of the day the green tea a person chooses to drink will be down to their own particular preference. Certainly many people who drink green tea today will try several different types before they actually find one that they truly like.
