There are a lot of people who believe that hair loss only happens in men. This is so not true. There are many women who deal with female baldness every single day. When women start losing their hair it is because of a hereditary problem that might have been inherited from each of their parents. The cause of female baldness is a chemical called DHT. Women who are at the age of menopause will have a more likely chance of losing their hair. The hair will start thinning on the top of the head and the sides. There are products that are available for you women who are dealing with this. You don’t have to accept it but instead, do something about it. Baldness in females is usually treated with one of three methods. You may have to try out more than one to find the one that will work best for you. However, you want to make sure that you take the time to find out about each one before you use it. You might even want to talk to your family doctor or a dermatologist about your female baldness problem. They will be able to give you some recommendations that you would not have known on your own. What are the three available methods that are used for baldness in females? One: Rogaine is a medical treatment that a lot of women use. It is one of two products that have been approved by the FDA for hair loss that women can use. This treatment will not work on every female but it will work on about 50% of those suffering from female baldness. However, the efficiency will not be the same for every woman. The treatment is in lotion form and you will need to put this on your scalp after shampooing. Two: Wigs or Hair Thickeners – These products can help you save money and time but they may make you feel uncomfortable. This is an option for women who don’t mind the hair loss or don’t want to waste their time trying to stop it. Three: Hair transplantation is another option. This is the least recommended female baldness solution. There are some severe risks involved with this even though there have been improvements made with the surgical procedures. This can also be a painful and long process. You will definitely want to talk to your doctor before you decide to use this option. When you recognize that you have a female baldness problem you can take steps to stop it from happening. You will want to look for shampoos and other treatments that can either stop it or slow it down. You should talk to your family doctor or dermatologist to see what they recommend. Baldness in females is definitely something that can be taken care of if you want it to stop.
