Long-time married couple Teri and Ian Pollock were the fifth pair eliminated from The Amazing Race: All-Stars, but they are sure that their love for adventure and traveling will keep them hungry for more. Outside of the show, Teri and Ian have gone on a number of personal trips and vacations abroad. Once, while vacationing in Bangkok, the couple was accidentally separated, and as Ian devoted his time looking for his wife, Teri decided to go on an enjoyable sightseeing activity.
Teri and Ian first joined the reality series during its’ third season. Teri, a homemaker, and Ian, a private investigator and retired police lieutenant from Palm City Florida, take care of three wonderful children, one of who is Ian’s son from a previous relationship. Teri and Ian’s union was made possible by Ian’s mother, and the couple decided to get married only after a year of dating. They came very far in the competition, having coming so close to winning the one million dollar cash prize. They ultimately placed in second, losing to the tandem of Flo and Zach. However, when the show asked them to compete again in it’s special season, The Amazing Race: All- Stars, they did not express any hesitation and jumped right in.
They failed to match their previous finish, despite having arrived third at legs 4 and 5. They fell behind the other teams during the 6th leg, most especially when they were held up at the airport. Along with thousands of other hopeful passengers, Teri and Ian were forced to wait on stand-by for available seats. The delay caused them to arrive last at the pit stop in Tanzania, and consequently took them out of the race. Despite their loss, the couple is satisfied with the way they were portrayed on the show.
Even though Teri and Ian did not emerge victorious from their two runs in the competitive series, their performance is not to be underestimated nor undermined. As the older couples in the pack, Teri and Ian had a lot to overcome physically, and their great determination proved to be a great motivator during their stay in both competitions.
