Planning a wedding takes a lot of time and effort, and sometimes there is so much going on that people forget about certain things. If something goes wrong on your wedding day or during the process of planning your wedding, it is certain that things will usually become chaotic. Things for the wedding could be forgotten or things may totally go not as planned. In this case, it is important to have a backup plan.
It is important to take precautions during the planning of your wedding so you can avoid missing steps or forgetting steps altogether. Here are five easy ways to avoid very common wedding mistakes.
1. Reduce the amount of guest you invite. A lot of the planning that you do when getting ready for your wedding is based on the number of guest that you invite. The more guest you have the higher the cost ends up being and it you aren't careful then you may find that there isn't enough space for everyone at the church or reception hall.
Know the general that about 80-85% of the guests you invite to your wedding will show. It is highly critical that you take unexpected guests into consideration. Plan your wedding as if everyone you invited will be there.
2. Know the basic rules and regulations of getting married. The laws dealing with marriage licenses vary in each state and sometimes in each county. It is important to have an understanding of the rules and laws that pertain to you. Take time to check up on all of these legalities way before your wedding.
If you planned your wedding to take place in a church, be aware of what dress and music are suitable. Some churches have strict requirements about the wedding ceremony. To get this information, contact your officiant.
3. Be sure that all vendors dealing with your wedding know the specific details. These people will need to know the time, date, and location, but besides these details, vendors will also need to know other things. Visit each vendor a week or so before your wedding to make sure that all of the little details are correct. It is a good idea to make a list of the vendors you plan to use with their contact information to have on during your wedding incase something goes wrong.
4. Make sure that all of the beauty treatments you plan to get are done a few weeks before your wedding. If you plan to dye or get a tan for your wedding, do it well before incase something goes wrong. Do not wait to the last minute. Something could go wrong with your hair dye or you might get burned while tanning, so be sure you do all of this ahead of time so you have time to fix anything that might go wrong.
5. Be prepared. Of course we can't see what the future will bring, so having alternate plans is a must. For example if you are planning your wedding for outside then make sure that you have an alternate location indoors just in case the weather turns to rain. You should also see that someone is in charge of having an emergency sewing kit, first aid supplies or any other items that may possibly be needed...just in case.
