Analyzing Feng Shui Principles for Your Home

When it comes time for redecorating or remodeling in order to bring health and energy into your home, you may want to analyze feng shui and see if it can truly help in these regards. For example, how does the use of color add vitality and energy, or on the other hand, calm and relax you? How can de-cluttering your environment do the same?

By giving some time, consideration, and critical thought to these subjects, you can begin to analyze feng shui to see if it there are any real scientific principles that can be applied.

Use of Color In Feng Shui

When we analyze feng shui in regards to the way it uses color, we start by understanding the way colors can affect our moods. Many people are energized by bright or lively colors. It's hard to stay perky in a room that's entirely black. Stark, dull colors can bring you down and even trigger depression.

Many kitchens, on the other hand, are painted bright shades of yellow or orange; when you analyze feng shuis encouragement of the use of these colors for this room, you realize that they are upbeat and considered clean and sanitary.

Lack of Clutter In Feng Shui

The art of feng shui, when we really begin to analyze it, encourages an avoidance of clutter. Having too many items in your home, or any place you spend a lot of time might make you feel anxious or stressed. Too much clutter is a constant reminder of all the things you need to take care of, whether it's a broken appliance, laundry to be done, or other chores. Positive energy isn't encouraged by clutter.

How to Analyze Feng Shui In Your Home

So how can you apply these principles in your own home? You don't need to be an interior designer to understand color. Take a good, long look at each of your rooms. How do you feel when you are standing in the doorway? Do you feel like you want to enter that room or do you feel depressed for any reason? Do you avoid the room in question because of something you dislike about it? If you are going to analyze feng shui, you will need to have a clear feeling for every room and face up to these feelings.

Of course, there aren't any sure rules about what constitutes clutter. Just remember to be honest when you make your assessment. Ask yourself if the things you've been holding onto are adding value to your life or just bringing you down. Decide what type of energy you perceive when looking at them, and thing about whether or not you're keeping things for good or bad reasons. Don't hang onto items "just in case". The negative energy you bring into your home is much greater than the uses these items might have.

If you can spend some time and analyze feng shui, you will be able to use it in your life and home. Just by applying these few simple principles, you can derive some great benefits.
