With many drivers on the road today, it is important that people have what is necessary to keep financially safe in case of an accident. Without auto insurance, many drivers would not be able to drive due to the fear that there was an accident, they wouldn't be able to pay for it. Basic auto insurance covers the driver on a variety of categories in order to keep the driver financially safe.

What Does This Include?

Collision Coverage - If anything were to be hit by your vehicle, collision coverage would be the plan to deal with it. This plan includes hitting another driver, flipping over, or even hitting another object. With a deductible collision coverage can range from 250 to 1000 dollars. The lower your premium, the higher your deductible.

Personal Injury Protection - This plan covers medical bills, at a result of getting personal harmed in an accident. It is rare to receive lost wage reimbursement, but it is not impossible. Lost wage reimbursement happens when you cannot work due to your injuries. While death does not always occur, it may still happen, so this plan covers funeral services too.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage - Also under basic auto insurance, is the uninsured motorist coverage. This coverage will pay you or your family, and possibly a friend, if they were to be hit by in uninsured driver, while driving your vehicle. It can also be effective if you are hit while not in a vehicle.

Comprehensive Coverage - Say you were hit by something due to weather, or something you could not have prevented, even if you weren't in your vehicle. This coverage plan will pay for anything that could not have been preventable such as, most weather incidents, hitting an animal, and vandalism.

Property Damage - This plan covers the damage caused to buildings, road signs, lights, and other structures in case you are involved in an accident with them. It also covers against hitting other cars.

Bodily Harm Coverage - While it doesn't always happen, in a lot of cases, someone has the chance of being physically hurt by the accident. If you were to injure someone, then this is the plan that would cover that subject. In most states liability is required to even drive on the road. It is also very important to have it in the event you get sued. It will protect your property.

Basic auto insurance is one of the most important insurances to own. With millions and millions of drivers today, it is inevitable that there will be an accident. It may not happen everyday, but it still does take place, and is very stressful without owning auto insurance. Without owning it, you can, and usually will be sued for any unjust actions, your fault or not. In order to keep you and your family safe, it is well advised you get basic auto insurance.
