The biggest mistake newcomers make is targeting keywords that have millions of competition. They think that since the more competition a keyword has, that must mean that keyword is making a profit, right? Yes, that’s correct. The problem with this thinking is, unless you’re a big expert at SEO (search engine optimization)… it’s almost impossible to rank high for a keyword that has millions of competition. That’s where Affiliate Niche Marketing comes in.
The little guys like us needs to target low-competition keywords, but with a high enough search volume to make us a profit. It sounds hard, but it’s quite easy. For example, the keyword “crab” has over 18,000 searches per month according to overture, but it has over 25 million competitions according to Google. Instead of building a website around the keyword “crab”, we should target more detailed keywords such as “cake crab recipe”. There are a high enough search volume to make a profit (over 8,000 searches per month) and less than 4,000 competitions according to Google. With only 4,000 competitions, it’s almost a guarantee that you can get into the top 10 listing in Google with a little SEO (search engine optimization).
Niche marketing is a must for newcomers in the game. Do not try to fool yourself by targeting high-competition keywords. A niche can make you rich if you can find an undiscovered gem that no one has found yet. Believe it or not, I’ve made up to $800/day from a niche that wasn’t discovered yet. It’s not luck either, it’s hard work. Also, the traffic was free (Google). Since niches come with almost zero competition, it’s very easy to get into the top 10 listing of any search engines with a little knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization).
So instead of trying to compete with top companies who target those hard volume searched keywords, we should target low volume searched keywords called niches which increases our chance of having no competition.
