5th Avenue is a relatively new perfume, introduced by Elizabeth Arden in 1996. 10 years later, now it is a classic fragrance that most women have heard of and many women know. The fragrance is definitely floral. It has a hint of oriental style. Above all, it has a fresh, clean and classy scent. It's not cloying or over-sweet, and the balance between the floral and the musk has been well judged, making 5th Avenue a well-rounded, balanced and understated fragrance.

Notes
Top notes are the scents you smell first when you spray the fragrance. 5th Avenue's are lilac, linden blossom, dewy magnolia and bergamot. It has a nice light scent. The lotion goes into skin easily without leaving a greasy feel. This was a nice background aroma. You won’t experience sensory overload while you wearing it.

Heart notes are different scents which develop after the perfume has been on the skin for a little while. The scent will settle down in 10 minutes after you spray the fragrance. Here they are violet, ylang-ylang, jasmine, Indian tuberose, peach, clove and nutmeg. It expresses the elegance, splendor and vitality of life in New York.

Then it comes to the base notes. 5th Avenue is based on amber, Tibetan musk, sandalwood, iris, and vanilla. Your confidence, perception of fashion and wisdom will be well interpreted during this period.

Generally speaking, 5th Avenue is classified as a refreshing and flowery fragrance. It is a perfect mix of flower, fruit, spice and wood scents.

What's the packaging like?
When designing the bottle, the designers were inspired by the New York skyline. So you can see the bottle is tall, fairly thin and clear. With a square gold lid and a small, square label, the bottle combines modern style with the elegance of classic. The box is also very understated and classy. A plain gold box with, again, a small square label bearing the name 5th Avenue.

When can you wear it?
5th Avenue is a lovely and timeless fragrance. It gives you a mildly oriental aroma but not heavy, as some oriental perfumes are. Personally, I'd like to say that 5th Avenue is suitable for wearing at any time, day or night. It's fresh enough to wear in the daytime, and sensual enough to wear in the evening. Perhaps you may feel strange if you use it while wearing jeans and T-shirt but I believe it doesn’t matter... If you really love it then wear it! Above all it's adaptable and can be worn at lots of different times.
